He enjoys writing and is deeply interested in the mechanics of the English language—despite not enjoying reading. Nicholas specializes in 20th-century warfare, for therein lies the seeds of our modern geo-political landscape. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, he is grateful that his parents moved to Victoria when he was two. Nicholas spends his free time in the forest or fixing his ever-troublesome Volkswagen Westfalia.

Brian Whitman is currently completing his Bachelors of Arts at the University of Victoria. He is originally from Hamilton Ontario, where he lived there until he was 17 before moving to Victoria. Once he is finished, he plans on completing a masters and Ph.D. in English so that he can teach English in universities. Brian loves reading the classics, and especially loves to play the piano. Music, astronomy and Reading are his favourite pastimes.
